This is the modern UCI Omnium with the following races spread across the day in this order: Scratch, Tempo, Elimination, and Points.

Gear Restrictions

  • A - Elite - Unrestricted

  • B - Masters/Intermediate - Maximum 94.5 inches (e.g. 49x14 or 52x15)

  • C - Youth/Beginner - Maximum 86.4 inches (e.g. 48x15 or 51x16)

Keirin (Sprint)

Keirin (Sprint)

Race Format

A single flying 200 effort at the start of the day (10:00) will provide the seeding into the Keirin tournament itself.

Depending on the number of registrants, heats will be determined morning of and will be spaced out throughout the day to give ample rest to those riding in multiple events.

Race Distances

On the Argyll Velodrome’s 333m track, the race begins showing 6 laps on the lap counter. The derny will take riders from 25km/h to 45km/h in FOUR & A HALF laps pulling out on the back straight. The final TWO & A HALF laps are raced with the conclusion at the finish line on the home straight.
